About JJC Surigao Ironwood
JJC Surigao Ironwood is a youth-led, service-driven non-government organization founded on September 23, 2023, through the sponsorship and support of JCI Surigao Nickel, under the leadership of LO President Ramon Isagani Bautista III. Born from the desire to unite, empower, and amplify the youth of Surigao del Norte, the organization stands as a symbol to what young people can accomplish when given a platform to serve with purpose and lead with heart.

From its earliest beginnings, JJC Surigao Ironwood was intentionally built on the unwavering strength and resilience of the ironwood tree—a symbol deeply rooted in Surigaonon identity. Like ironwood, the organization embodies firmness in values, endurance through challenges, and the ability to grow strong despite storms. This symbolism continues to guide the chapter’s culture, leadership, and long-term vision.

The story of JJC Surigao Ironwood is also the story of three youth organizations whose collaborative spirit shaped its very core. Its charter members were composed of leaders and volunteers from: Batang Surigaonon Youth (BSY) — known for their dynamic youth mobilization efforts and strong community outreach.

Sugakod Surigao — a group born from disaster response during Typhoon Odette, committed to resilience, recovery, and community empowerment. Rotaract Club of Central Surigao — a well-established service organization recognized for its humanitarian projects, education programs, and civic partnerships. These groups had long partnered with JCI Surigao Nickel in various community endeavors—from disaster relief operations and environmental initiatives to medical missions and youth leadership activities. Their combined strengths, experiences, and values formed the pioneering foundation of JJC Surigao Ironwood. They did not simply join as individuals; they came together as communities united by service. This collaborative origin gives JJC Surigao Ironwood a rare identity: an organization built not just by members, but by movements.
